Juvederm Ultra
The Hylacross range. 0.55ml £140. 1ml £250.
Four syringes. One gel family. Hylacross, not Vycross. It draws more water, so the first days are fuller. The name is chosen in the room. Not a cheek. Not a jaw.
Hylacross · four names
In the syringe
Cross-linked hyaluronic acid, 24 mg per ml. Lidocaine 3 mg per ml, already in the gel. The area is still numbed first. Ultra 2 and Ultra Smile hold 0.55 ml. Ultra 3 and Ultra 4 hold 1 ml. The box is often two syringes. That is two of the same syringe, not a larger one and not another name.
What it is for
Ultra 2 is the soft one. Fine lines and lips. Ultra Smile is the lip syringe in the same family, and it has its own page. Ultra 3 has more body. Lips and lines, not a cheek. Ultra 4 is the firmest Ultra. Deeper folds. The jaw syringe is Volux. The cheek syringe is Voluma. Those are Vycross.
The first week
An Ultra looks fuller on the day. That is the gel plus swelling, and this family takes on more water than a Vycross. The first days are not the result. Lips show it more than a fold. Redness, swelling and tenderness can last up to a week. Bruising can sit longer. If swelling, redness or tenderness is still there after a week, or the skin goes pale, mottled or very painful, or there is any change in vision, contact the clinic the same day. Do not wait for a review.
How long
The correction is temporary. It depends on the area, the amount, and how it is placed. This is the shorter end of the range. Lips move all day. Not a guarantee. A top-up is the same product. Wait until the reaction has settled, at least two weeks, before another syringe.
After
No makeup on the area for 12 hours. For two weeks, avoid long sun, sunbeds, UV, temperatures below freezing, sauna and steam. Do not massage it yourself. Sleep a little raised the first night. Skip a hard workout, alcohol and a hot bath on the day. Judge it after the swelling has gone, not on the way home.
Dissolve is £150.
