Juvederm Volux
1ml · £250. The jaw gel. Not an Ultra. Not a lip.
One product. Volux. The firmest Vycross, not an Ultra. One size, 1ml. Chin and jaw. It holds a line. Not a lip. Not a cheek. The cheek syringe is Voluma.
Vycross · one size
In the syringe
Cross-linked hyaluronic acid, 25 mg per ml. Lidocaine 3 mg per ml, already in the gel. The jaw is still numbed first. One syringe holds 1 ml. The box is often two syringes. That is two of the same syringe, not a larger one and not another name. A jaw often needs more than one. The number is decided in the room.
What it is for
The maker’s use is the chin and the jaw, to hold a line. It is the firmest gel in the Vycross range. Firmer than Voluma. It is not a cheek syringe. It is not a lip syringe. It is not Ultra 4. Ultra 4 draws more water.
The first week
The jaw can look sharper on the day. That is the gel plus swelling. The line can feel firm. That is not the result. Redness, swelling and tenderness can last up to a week. Bruising can sit longer. One side can look fuller while the swelling is uneven. If swelling, redness or tenderness is still there after a week, or the skin goes pale, mottled or very painful, or there is any change in vision, contact the clinic the same day. Do not wait for a review.
How long
The correction is temporary. It depends on the jaw, the amount, and how it is placed. In the maker’s jawline studies, up to 24 months, then it fades. Not a guarantee. A top-up is the same product. Wait until the reaction has settled, at least two weeks, before another syringe.
After
No makeup on the jaw for 12 hours. For two weeks, avoid long sun, sunbeds, UV, temperatures below freezing, sauna and steam. Do not massage it yourself. Sleep a little raised the first night. Skip a hard workout, alcohol and a hot bath on the day. Judge the jaw after the swelling has gone, not on the way home.
Dissolve is £150.
